Hey guys, I'm looking at purchasing a Quick Performance 9" housing and axle package. I have a center section in the shed. (I'm not sure if it's nodular iron or cast) Where can I find a used 35 spline locker for a decent price. Also, what are you guys running for brakes? I want to keep my factory wheels.

You can't use a 35 spline differential in a stock Ford case. You must have an after market case with a 3.25 bearing bore to use a 35 spline differential.

 

I use second gen F body drum brakes on mine. Used the backing plates from a 1978 firebird parts car I had. Enlarged the center hole to fit the ford 9" housing ends. I used new wheel cylinders and brake shoes for the '78 firebird.

 

I got the disc brakes that QP provided with it.
I believe they are from a G-body.

 

I fabricated brackets and installed rear disk brakes from a 99 Jimmy.

Sticky at the top of the brake forum. Disk brakes for any differential.

I still want to refabricate the brackets and install a second set of calipers.

As mentioned above, you won't be able to fit a 35 spline carrier into a stock housing.

 

Buckshot here. As long as you're interested in buying a mfg. rear, Trick Chassis in Beloit Wi. built mine. Alex there can help you out on the details, will custom build it, (I had 1/2 inch off each side for mine), get the correct axles, and put the ends on that you want. I had him use mounts for 4th Gen. for mine, and they bolted right up. ( Bought a set on ebay). These are Direct bolt ins, and Reasonable. I see you are in Wi. At least worth looking into. Check online for some of the guys that deal with used stuff from like Hendricks motor sports and other nascar teams. they have ford 9 rear parts and lots of other parts that are top of the line and very cheap. I bought a locker that was out of either Jimmy Johnson or Jeff Gordon's car along with the yolk (it has the pulley on it for the rear cooler). This was way back when Hendricks was a two car team. I got some stuff from jo Gibbs racing as well.

 

hey I just got my quick performance rear end and wanted to know how you fabricated your brackets... I got a 4th gen camaro rear disc brake kit and the brackets do not fit over their 4th gen axle flang... can u show me yours and how you ended up doing it?? Thanks!
