Chevy f-body T-5 with ford T-5 internals
I'm currently looking at a t5 as described. Was told that the input share was machined down to fit the application and has the clutch with it.
I'm looking to swap my 700r4 for a t-5 and this is one of the first complete t-5 transmissions that I have found. Also before I'm asked, I'm not sure on what hp my engine has. It was an LB9 and I put a 5.7L block under the 5.0 heads and tpi intake. Still has the 5.0 tpi computer settings, injectors, everything.
Any thoughts on this at all would be helpful.

Re: Chevy f-body T-5 with ford T-5 internals
If the trans case and tail shaft and tail shaft housing are correct for an F-body then it will probably work. The Ford input shaft requires a different clutch plate due to shaft diameter and spline count. A T5 is a T5 is a T5. Ford internals not withstanding, the T5 is a weak transmission. The lower first gear (2.95) transmissions are said to hold up better than the higher ratio six cylinder versions. If the tail shaft and housing have been swapped for the F-body pieces then the vss will work fine. The tail shaft must have the speedo drive gear in the correct location for the F-body tail housing. FYI, you must use the F-body tail housing for the correct trans mount and torque arm mount. HTH

The t-5 case is out of a v8 third gen camaro. No problem with the torque arm, the vss could be an issue and I forgot to mention it has a driveshaft with it.

It's extremely unlikely to be GM V8 ratios.
For all intents an purposes, it's a V6 T5 with an even more obscure clutch requirement (10 spline.) If they kept the Ford mainshaft, it's 28 spline so you'd need to change the slip-yoke too.
So, consider it a V6 T5 with an even weaker input shaft and more oddball clutch disc requirement. (There is an off-the-shelf S10/Astro 10.5" clutch that works with a third gen V6 T5 and SBC.)
So it has zero advantage over a V6 third gen T5 and you might have to go with different clutch and driveline components to fit it. What's the point?
