'84 V6 flywheel compatible w/'90 V6 block?
I just happen to have a copy of the Chevy Power Manual sitting here, and they say the '85-older blocks use a two-piece seal, while the newer ones use a one-piece. When they made that change, they also changed the bolt pattern on the back of the crank. So, the old flywheel won't bolt up to the newer crank.

That specific information is about the smallblock. For some reason I seem to recall that the two flywheels are not interchangable between the 60* V-6 and the 90* V-6.

I wasn't talking about a 90 degree V6, i was talking about putting a 1984 2.8 flywheel on a 1990 3.1L. I'm wasn't sure if they changed the rear main seals like they did in 1986 with the small block.

Will it work? Is the bolt pattern the same?
