I am buying the SLP torsen posi carrier. The carrier is a 3 series and for 28 spline axles. I have the opportunity to buy a set of 3.23 ring and pinion set from a 2001 Camaro Z28 with only 6k miles. Will these gears work??

It's still a fourth gen Camaro, it just has the 3rd gen Small Block in it.

Where are you getting the gears? Like who from, or where? Is the person/place your buying them from just changing gear ratios?

If that person/place is getting a new carrier, then you can buy the whole thing from the 2001 car. IIRC, it'll drop right in. That's what you're gonna be buying from SLP anyway.

But if they're only swaping gears, then you are gonna need a new carrier.

So I guess to sum it up, Yes. They will work.

The 98+ LS1 f-bodies are still 4th gens. There is no 5th gen, yet...

And yes you can use the SLP 3-series posi in your 92 car with a set of 3.23 gears from a 2001 Camaro.
