Swapping over engine and trans

Hello, I am thinking of doing a swap for my 1991 Firebird. I plan on building an LQ4 and am thinking of around 500-600 hp. My transmission is currently a 4 speed auto and I want a manual in it, what would everyone suggest? Also wondering what it will take to do the swap as far as the shifter **** replacement, and making it connect to the back wheels. I am a pre-student for auto mechanics so I have a base knowledge on how things work but not in depth knowledge on how everything hooks up.

T-56. LS-1 version. (note that I'm not "everyone", just one of MANY yutzes on the Internet)

Black shifter.

Stock T-5 shifter ****, make a bushing to fit to the handle and the ****. No one will be able to tell by looking at it that it didn't come there, if you are careful and meticulous, and use a little more finesse than the typical hack with Jeffrey Dahmer saw and dykes.

making it connect to the back wheels
Re-install the drive shaft when you're done putting the transmission in.
