Car: 1984 Trans Am L69
Engine: Sniper EFI Powered 355
Transmission: WC T5 w/ Steel Support Plate
Axle/Gears: 3.42 10 Bolt Posi
Hole drilled in pinion

I recently picked these 3.42 gears up in an open Yukon box.

They are said to be new unused. I was just curious what the extra hole in the pinion was. Maybe to balance it? See attached

May be an indexing hole for the machining process.

You are correct I asked yukon and that is what they told me.
