Super t10 ---> th350
Blew up my super t10 , first gear went out . Looking to buy a th350 or turbo 400 trans to swap in . Looking for something automatic that can handle abuse . And easy to find around for a decent price . What would be needed to do the swap? I find forums on going automatic to manual but nothing on going automatic

Any particular reason to switch to auto? I guess what I mean is your car is already set up for a standard trans so why not just put a beefier one in. A tko or t56 will handle loads of abuse.

Im 16 and have a crap job and am very limited on money . A friend has a th350 for 100$ . And it's behind a 327 that makes a little under 300hp to the flywheel

I did this swap on my '82 back in the early '90s-as I recall was basicly bolt in using a B&M torque arm kit:cannot remember for sure if I used the t10 crossmember.TH 350 I used was bought as-is for $100 out of an '80 Camaro Since radiator had no cooler a separate cooler was mounted.For years afterward,car still had a clutch pedal along with the automatic shift...

stock setup is kinda water cooled-heated tranny fluid is circulated to a heat exchanger in the pass side radiator tank where it is cooled by engine coolant that has been cooled in the radiator.Add -on coolers are usually small radiators placed where there is decent airflow.Stock torque arm will not bolt to the TH350 without the B&M or similar kit,but can also mounted to the crossmember if you have the means to do this properly.Engine does not need moved.
