Any difference after filling tranny with B&M Trick Shift fluid??
I'm going to change the tranny fluid and figured I'd replace it with Trick Shift. It claims to improve the shift performance is this true?
Skip the 'special' fluids, except for full synthetic perhaps. If you are looking to imporve the performance of the tranny you are talking about a calibration issue. I would recommend the TransGo Reprogramming Kit.

Trick Shift is Type F fluid. Avoid. Go with the shift kit mentioned above. Can be purchased for about 135 bucks.

how can it be a type f fluid it doesn't say. It does say that it's compatable with all fluids and that it can extend the life of the tranny.

If it said Type F , everybody would go for the cheap Type F. You can put regular Type F in your car and it would be the same thing as trick shift. Its a thicker lubricant. Do a search on this topic. Its rare to see anybody agree with type F.

wouldn't using that in a GM tranny cause more harm than good? And if so how can they put the claim on it that it would help the life of your tranny?

Yup thats why alot of people stay away from it. When I purchased my new converter from Pro-Built he said the best fluid that he likes and recomends is the regular MOBIL dextron in a blue bottle. He says he like it better then the Mobil 1 Syn type. Just stick with the regular dextron for best performance.

I have B&M Synthetic trans fluid in my tranny I noticed no change in performance but I feel better it's synthetic. Next fluid change I will go with Mobil 1 syn.

I believe in regular ole Dex III lube. Unless I was to switch to full synthetic, which I wouldn't anyway just cause it's $5 a qt and you need 10.5 qts of it.
According to the people who analyze transmission oil the number one synthetic is the Amsoil & number two is the Redline oil. Amsoil is also the cheapest & you can buy it by the 2 & 1/2 galloon size, quarts available also. Stay AWAY from B&M "Trick Shift", nothing but type "F". And you know the story, its been told here on this board numerous times.
