T-56 swap

Help everybody I have a 91 z28 convertible with a 305 five speed what is involved in swapping to a t-56 I have a 5.7 l98 that I am putting in it but was tossing around the idea to pu a six speed in but wasn't sure what else I have to change beside the transmission

At the top of this forum is " My T56 Swap Thread...."

It doesn't sound like you have specific questions yet which would not be addressed by reading that thread.

Two very important points:

The LT1 T56 isn't the only way to do the swap, but it's the simplest way to do a T56 behind an L98 in a third gen. If you want to ask "can I use a 2011 Camaro transmission," go right ahead. But the LT1 T56 is the simplest way to do a T56 behind an L98 in a third gen.

And most important: Don't put a 2.66 first gear, 0.50 sixth gear T56 in with any less than 3.42 rear gears. Preferable 3.55 to 3.90.
