Will a NON-Traction control 98-02 axle be a direct swap into a 98-02 traction control rear end ?? ( I ASSUME it will,... does anyone KNOW ?? )
Background; car is an 84 with a LS1 traction control rear end. Obviously, the traction control is not functional. I'm getting some noise from the drivers side rear and suspect a bad axle bearing. ( it's could be the internal Parking brake too - have not investigated fully yet ! ) If it's a bad axle bearing than there's a possibility that the axle itself might need to be replaced as well due to (possible) scoring.
I have the chance to pick-up a NON traction control 98+ axle at a good price and was about to buy it in preparation for the axle bearing R/R. BUT; A good price will = a bad price if I buy this thing and it will not fit properly. I thought about buying both non-TC axles from this rear end,.... But 1 axle had minor scoring when I pulled them out so only 1 of those non TC axles is good.
Don't need the traction control to function,... I would like to buy this non-traction control axle - and have it ready to install if needed - in place of the original traction control axle when the axle bearings are replaced. I can always worry about finding a good TC axle at a later time if I decide to use this rear in my fourth gen.....
WILL IT FIT ??!!?!
