With TV Cable Adjusted Properly, Getting Early/Soft shifts
As the title suggest, if I adjust the TV cable properly (push the sleeve all the way in towards the transmission, then get in the car and put the pedal to the floor so it ratchets out a bit) it gives me really soft, early shifts with no downshifts. If I push the TV cable sleeve all the way back and leave it, I get stronger, later shifts and appropriate downshifts, but my carb linkage isn't opening fully (by just a small amount). My throttle cable is at the proper length for my linkage, as I can depress my pedal all the way and the linkage fully rotates to its proper position. My TV cable seems to be the original (or at least the appropriate one for the car).
I'm kind of at a loss here...I assume I'm going to have to drop the transmission pan and see whats going on (something I haven't done before)...any suggestions on what I should be looking for on how to fix this issue?
