How to remove rear-end?

i was wondering if someone could give me the steps to removing a rear end? the one that we are working on is blown and is in need of rebuilding. if anyone can give me tips to taking it off and i know a guy thats doing the repairs, so the soon i get it to him, the soon i can have my baby back on the streets. thanks for your help everyone.
PS, would a rear end girdle cover be worth the money so that this wont happen again? and are they any good?

not necessarily in this order.raise the car on jack stands, remove the driveshaft, unbolt the lower control arms, unbolt the shocks, make sure the rearend is supported and remove the torque arm, remove the panhard rod, remove brake line bracket and brake lines.lower rearend and remove springsand that should be it. most of the bolts for the shocks and panhard broke on my car. also unbolt the rear sway bay . forget anything people?

it's not hard to do, way easier than you'd think. take a look at it, start unbolting stuff, make sure you aren't in a position for it or something to fall on you. i set a floor jack under the center section and after everything is loose let it down. you'll be suprised how easy it is.

yes the alum girdle is worth it's money .But don't use a gasket just use black rtv less deflection, u also torque the bolts that go to the bearing caps to 120 in lbs
