Its 10* in chicago and my trans/rear end isnt happy!!!

Since it has gotten cold, I have noticed two things about my car. If it is not warmed up all the way, my recently rebuilt (less than 1 year ago) 700r4 slips on the 2-3 shift. As soon as the car warms up it shifts firmly without slipping. I have checked my trans fluid and it looks good/is full. Another problem I am having is that my posi isnt working in the cold. I have the 9 bolt w/ 3.27 gears. It did this last year and I thought I had broken it. As soon as it warmed up outside last spring, the posi started working again. What do you guys think?

Should I take my car back to the trans shop?
Should I have the 9 bolt looked at?

Keep in mind I only need the car to power me untill spring and I find a new car (4th gen).

Thanks

Always, always allow your car to "warmup to operating temp"
before doing any kind of "performance driving" where the posi
would have to lock up and the trans shift hard. Drivetrain clearances increase in cold winter weather and fluids don't want to flow.

Well,
The trans does start working the way it should when it and the engine warms up...however the posi does not. From what I understand about the Borg Warner posi it needs to be shimmed to adjust for wear...is that the only way I can get my posi back? I like to have the posi when there is any snow on the ground. Is my understanding of the Borg Warner diff correct? Is this something I can tackle or is it something to take to the trans shop?

Thanks for your replies earlier...I guess if I was a 17 year old car I wouldnt want to be driving around when its so cold.

Is your TV cable adjusted properly after the rebuild? My '85 Chevy truck had the same problem with it's 700R4 on the 2nd to 3rd shift when cold. The TV cable was WAY out of adjustment, it shifts much smoother now thats is back where it belongs. The trans in my truck was rebuilt by the previous owner, and was driven with a mis-adjusted cable for the past two years
