Rear differential help?
i have a 87 z28 5.0 carb automatic car. GU2 rear end. I have no odd sounds coming from the rear end. So here’s my issue
Iput the rear on jackstands start spinning the wheels on the driver side and they start to spin opposite . directions from each other then one wheel stops while I am still spinning the wheels. So I change directions and they both start spinning for a few turns then only the wheel I’m spinning is turning. Also the drivers side is hard to turn while the passenger side move extremely free. My question is what would cause this ?

Yup, nothing at all wrong with that, totally normal in every way.

Okay that eased my mind some just thought they both were supposed to Continuously spin either the same direction or opposite directions ! Thank you

Posi and spool spin together. One legs spin opposite or one tire.

I have the same rear end in my '87 and it does the same thing when on stands. So ya it's supposed to do that lol!
