4th Gen pedals top mounting bolt

Is anyone running 4th Gen pedals without the top mounting bracket on? It seems to be hanging me up getting the pedals in. Pondering modifying it now.

Re: 4th Gen pedals top mounting bolt

When I swapped in my 4 gen pedals I never put the top bolt in. So far no issues.

It's a really good idea to use it. Since when you push on the pedals, essentially the pedal assembly is putting even more stress on the non-reinforced firewall. The screw in the top helps to stop the assembly from wanting to rotate downward.

The top bolt doesn't line up exactly where the factory hole is, so you need to either elongate the hole in the pedal brscket to match, or cut it off and re weld it, or drill a new hole in the dash frame and use a new self threading or swadgeform screw to mount it.
