Retainer clip missing on fork 94 camaro z28 5.7

Cannot get a retainer clip for the fork apparently it has been discontinued I installed the fork on the bearing but it seems to have a lot of play I have a Brute Force bearing in pictures it seems like an AC Delco bearing is a little smalle if I switch to AC Delco would I get a tighter fit or can I get around it without installing the retainer clip.

It sounds like you think "a lot of play" is a problem. The 93-97 fork normally DOES seem like a sloppy fit.

There is one round wire retainer clip holding the throwout bearing to the pressure plate diaphragm fingers.

And a flat steel fork retainer clip riveted to the fork. This holds the fork to the pivot tee stud that is bolted to the front of the trans. If your fork POPs into place onto the bearing, and stays put, AND can be popped off the TO brg by pulling away from center, and stays put, the clip is probably fine.
