Zexel swap
Getting ready to swap out my old peg leg rear end to my new zexel ls1 rear end with disc brakes. Have a few questions about the swap. As for the brakes, Do I need to swap out the brake booster too? or just hook up the lines and thats it.? Will my v6 brake booster work the same with rear brakes? Also on the zexel rear end , whats the best oil to use? I heard that you should only use synthetic oil with the posi additive. Is that right.? Anything else i need to do before i do the swap ?

Re: Zexel swap
Zexel torsion limited slip device is a gear type posi, no clutch packs so why would you need additive?
The stock booster is fine, you "should" find a proportioning valve for a disc/disc car 89-92, or replumb the lines, connecting the fronts directly together and install an adjustable valve to tune the rears.
You need parking brake cables from hawks for the conversion as well.
You may have to mod9fy the brake lines on the axle if it's from a car with 4 channel abs

Cool. What fluid would you recommend for the zexel? As for the parking brake cables, can I just grab some of a 4th gen camaro? Was at the junkyard the other day and l saw plenty of candidates. As for the prop valve, I was reading and lot of people saying i should be fine with my stock valve. Its a 92 v6 . If not, can i just grab one off a 4th gen as well?
Re: Zexel swap
Any 80W90 or 75W90 gear oil will work with that differential. You do not need any limited slip additive. If you want to use synthetic then Mobile 1 is a good one. I've been using Lucas a lot lately. Torco is another brand that I like, especially with the Borg Warner differentials, but it's hard to find.

See what Chevrolet recommends. 2002 Camaro Owner Manual PDF here, page 342. Column on the right, Rear Axle (Limited Slip Differential).

The prop valve will "work". But the proper valve will work better.
4 th Gen cars do not use a comparable valve.
