4l60e only goes in low

4L60E Connect and Cruse
Quick history
Trans worked fine, was having trouble with speedo after checking wiring found I was hooked into the speed out for the tach in wiring harness. found vss wire and disconnect the speed out wire. now the trans wont shift out of low. Does the speed out wire have to be connected?

Re: 4l60e only goes in low

Well I can tell you that in my truck, 4L60E, if I remember when i was having issues with the VSS that i couldn't get out of 1st.
It seems like with the 700R4 though if the VSS is disconnected, the speedo just doesnt work.
