Any ideas where I can find a rubber plug for my 1985 Trans Am 9 bolt rear diff cover or an OEM cover with the plug? I am looking for stock not aftermarket. Plug

As you probably already know, it's been long disc. Haven't heard of a repop yet. If you are lucky, you may find something on evilpay. More searching in Australia may turn something up since the rear was built there.

Re: Everything I know about 9-Bolt Rearends!

I've got an original Borg & Warner 9 bolt / 3.27 gear ratio with 270K miles on it. It's about to be rebuilt but locating a new replacement ring & pinion gear set of the same ratio is difficult. Worst case scenario the original ring & pinion gear set will be reused.

Does anyone know where a new 7.75 3.27 ring & pinion gear set can be purchased? I've been searching on the internet for a while and haven'f found any such except from 9Bolt.com. I've found the 3.27 ring & pinion gear set from a 10 bolt but unsure if this would be compatible in the 9 bolt that I currently have.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Has anyone bought items from Just Differentials? If so, how long does it usually take before you get your items delivered to you? I purchased something from them two months ago and didn't hear anything back from them nor have I received the items I had purchased. I emailed them a few weeks after placing and paying for my order but have not received any reply from them to date. Should I wait it out longer or file a dispute with my cc?

Has anyone purchased items with Just Differentials on line? If so, how long did it take to receive the items that you purchased? Two months ago I made a purchase on line from Just Differentials. One month later I still hadn't received the items so I emailed them. To date, I've not received the parts I paid for or an email response back from them. Should I wait it out longer or do I need to file a dispute with my cc?

Re: Everything I know about 9-Bolt Rearends!

Just an update. Less then two weeks ago, I placed an order with JEGs for the same items that I had purchased & paid for months previously from JustDifferentials and Nitro Gear & Axle (Just Differentials). I received the item from JEG's already, less then two weeks after placing and paying for my order. JEG's came through with flying colors and I will buy from them now. As for JustDifferentials/NotroGear & Axle, I've not received the items I purchased and paid for over two months ago, haven't received any response to emails or phone messages left on their business voicemail, and have yet to talk with anyone from the company via phone call. Apparently they are no longer the caliber of vendor they once used to be.

Re: Everything I know about 9-Bolt Rearends!

Just thought I'd add to the thread with an image I haven't seen posted yet. I know others have already discussed that there are two different pinion bearing sizes in the BW 9-bolt, and here they are. The left pinion gear has the more common, large size bearing with 18 rollers. The right pinion gear has the less common, smaller bearing with 17 rollers. I'm fairly certain they're interchangeable, but I still need to remove each and measure. The left side is from a 3.27 set I ordered, and the right is a 2.77 from my '86 9-bolt I recently acquired. Just came across this while working through rebuilding it with the TLVL from Australia. Interesting, no rhyme or reason why they used different sizes...

Re: Everything I know about 9-Bolt Rearends!

Hello - new to this site and reading all I can find on 9 bolts. Question relates to axle endplay; it seems that the seals should take all play out the taper bearings when pressed in by the retainer plates. Upon reassembly I have a good .03 inch on both sides. I haven't replaced seals/bearings yet, & made no change to brake brackets. Any info is appreciated.
