I took apart my pump for my rebuild and noticed a small crack around were the front bushing sits. Doesn't look like a big deal but what do you guys think? Peep the video. Can I reuse it? V6 pump btw.
Picked up a teflon front bushing. When I went to remove the front pump bushing I noticed it was cocked sideways a bit and I removed it with my fingers, It just slid out real easy. Do you think the crack had some affect on the bushing not being in place? I fitted the teflon bushing in the hole just to see if it would slide right in and it doesn't. Waiting for my bushing driver kit to install it. I didn't see any threadlocker on the bushing. The stock one is cut in the middle and the teflon is solid.
Also my rebuild kit came with this kit for the input shaft sealing rings. But the 2 stator shaft sealing rings are scarf cut. Is it ok to use em or should I get the solid ones? I know 4 rings are for the input shaft and the other two are for the stator shaft but what are the other big ones for?? And the two tiny ones? Part no. k33901A 16273
As long as the new bushing when being installed has good resistance going in, you should be ok. DO NOT install bushing in too far as it will bottom out on the ridge and will start to shrink the inside diameter and will not go over the torque converter hub.

Yeah It did have good resistance going in and I used locktite red. Thanks for the info.
Might be OK, but That crack is real - not an "I wonder if that's a crack " - and I would never fully trust it. If it becomes a problem than the tranny has to come back out...... a BIG PITA that *might* have been avoided if you just replaced that pump case while you had the chance and it was easy to do. I would replace it; cheap "insurance" IMO.

Does the pump have a PN on it ?
I think the part number is 732. I got this trans at the local pick a part off a 92 firebird v6 to rebuild it so I can still drive my car (92 camaro v6). So I have another trans currently in my 92 camaro to get parts off it if necessary. I might just swap pumps when I swap out my motor and trans. But I'm very tempted to run the pump as is and take my chances. The cracks don't look very critical but your right why take the risk.
