Help with trans fluid in vac lines and burning in cylinders.
Hello all,
I have an issue with an 89 iroc 5.7 tpi I recently bought. Had to work out a good bit of vacuum issues and intake leaks as she sat for 2 yrs but habe her running now. Problem is that she seems to be burning either oil or trans fluid at each cold to semi-warm start to where a billowing cloud of whitish smoke comes about like I dumped a can of seafoam into the intake, then in less than a min it's gone and idling.
I first thought oil or coolant until I went to replace an intake vacuum line, feeding off the rear of the tpi plenum, took it loose and there was the fresh red trans fluid I just topped off with dripping pretty heavy in the vac lines. So what have I done here?
it has the 700R4 tranny so I was assuming there is no modulator for the diagram to rupture. Any ideas.
I greatly appreciate any advice. This diamond in the rough has been one thing after another.
