9 bolt 7.75 axle shaft
Hi,
i'm having a hard time finding brand new axle shaft for my 9 bolt here in Canada.., is it the same thing in the U.S, can't find nothing on the Web
My problem is that i have a leaking left axle shaft (oil leaking inside the rim), other than that the diff. work fine!
- My mechanic change the bearing and oil seal two time and after that told me maybe i need a new axle shaft.

He probably didn't use the proper seal, it is very hard to find the correct one. The axle is unlikely to be the problem in this circumstance.
If you're set on getting a NEW one, you'll have to start calling places that make them. I would start at Strange engineering. Or you can look at 9bolt.com and see if he can send you one from Australia

Re: 9 bolt 7.75 axle shaft
Thanks for the info,
I just find the parts numbers in the tread, Everything i know about the 9-bolt rear ends.
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/faq-...now-about.html
Auto Zone has the cheapest price on Timken Axle Bearings (Part # Set-9). You'll need to replace the seals also, I recommend Timken 710179 for the passenger side and 224255 for the driver's side.
They also sell Timken pinion seals part # 7457N. I've never found them cheaper anywhere else.
Is this up to date?
Thanks again.

Re: 9 bolt 7.75 axle shaft
Only one of the two Timken numbers is really applicable and it doesn't fit correctly. I had to use some washers to space my axle retainer bracket off the axle housing for it to work properly. The other one is similar, but it will leak like a sieve since it isn't correct
You can use
Brand SKF RH= 16542 LH= 16491
I have found a National seal part number too, but I can't find it right now, it's not in my spreadsheet
Looks like Yukon offers them
RH=YMSG1002 LH=YMSG1001
