So I'm getting everything mounted and set up and run into a problem, I started to bolt up the torque arm bracket from Moser and only 2 out of the 3 bolts line up. I noticed when I was starting to thread the bottom left bolt in and noticed it started to get a good amount of resistance, Looks like it started to cross thread the first couple threads so i'm going to chase the threads, has anyone run into this situation before ? I guessing they use a jig to weld the 3 pieces of round bar on the housing so i dont know how its out of wack, it sits up enough and slightly to the right when the bracket is on that the the top of the threads are pushed up a couple two three 16ths
Chase it from the opposite side of the hole if you can to avoid cross threading the the chase tap. I don't recall having any issues with the Moser torque arm bracket on mine when I got it. I have a Spohn torque arm and the instructions with the Spohn product advised me to grind away the center section ribs if there was a clearance problem. This is so that their one size doesn't fit anything junk could work. I did the opposite and removed quite a bit of the Spohn mounting bracket instead.
Good idea, I'm just going to have to find the size of the bolt / threads so I can buy a tap

From what I remember that is a pretty big bolt and that threaded tube is quite long. You may have to get creative to get the tap long enough to get all the way through from the opposite side.
Got the tap in and cleaned up the threads, torque arm bracket is still off and I dont have the time or patience to screw with it. Threw it up on craigslist last night, it can be someone else's head ache
Is it possible the mount was bent during shipping? Is this something that could be "fixed" with a 5lb hammer? I only ask because when I received mine years ago, the housing end was bent from being dropped off a truck somewhere during transit. I worked it back and honed the bearing bore and all was well.
Its either from the jig being off or in transit from shipping, they only put the housing in a card board box and it over 100 lbs and ups did me no favors either. I started hitting the mounts with a hammer, they moved slightly but in the process it's taking a toll on the metal dents, dings and gouges. Something I really can't stand since I dropped so much money on this rear end and brake package

I was thinking about that too but didn't know if any slop in the bracket what have an adverse effect on the rear end or torque arm during load. Last thing I want is it shifting or coming loose screwing up the pinion angle among other things

It's bad enough when started putting the center in that the studs that were supplied with the housing from moser started to strip torquing the center down to only 35 ft lbs. I had to knock out all the studs and buy Arp studs and re install everything
I've never seen any witness marks from movement esp with the tq I put on them. Back in the day the car went mid 1.5 60fts. I used factory ford studs nylon lock nuts for my 3rdmember.
