posi installtion

i have a 86 Z28 with a posi and i want to put it in my 88 i was just wondering if it would be easier to just swapp the whole rear end or just the posi? cuz if i just swap the posi wont i have to buy all new gaskets and stuff like that? and i have never worked on a rear end before? in depth deatils will really help guys. i dont mind the extra work of taking out both rear ends if it will be easier cuz i dont want to mess anything up

i'd say it's about the same effort. i'd swap carriers.it's only one gasket, some oil and posi additive. all you need to do is swap ring gears to the new carrier, check back lash and contact pattern. look in the drive train section of your manual.
