T5 & 350ci ----> starter question

Going to be installing a T5 onto a 350 soon and wanted to get the groups input as to the starter. Car is a 91 & - working from memory here - IIRC I've got 3 options:

1: Use the larger automatic starter and modify ( remove ) the starter notch on the bell-housing ?

2: Use the smaller 'manual' 305 starter ?

3: Use an LT1 starter ?

Planned to use a stock T5 flywheel for 1-piece RMS ( PN = 14088671). Any input or suggestions ?? IMO using an LT1 starter seems to be the best option here,... just not sure if it will match-up to the the flywheel properly. THANX in advance !

Re: T5 & 350ci ----> starter question

All I know is the LT-1 starter is expensive, like close to $200 if you don't have a core to exchange. I'll get one someday, but for now, gonna try to use the stock starter from an '84...

IIRC the ~'96 corvette starter is an option too. I have one, but not had a chance to install it yet.

Re: T5 & 350ci ----> starter question

I've got a used 95Z LT1 starter and was hoping that one would work. New ones are pretty expensive,........ but so is a bell-housing. I really don't like the idea of cutting off the starter notch from the bell-housing; I know it's an option ----> but don't really like that option.

I don't KNOW if the 95Z LT1 starter will "mesh" with the flywheel I'm using,

&

I have no experience with the smaller "manual" thirdgen starter when bolted to a 1pc RMS 350.

Re: T5 & 350ci ----> starter question

This is the one I used with my T56 swap it has a 153 tooth flywheel also. Starter seems to be holding up. quite and is pretty small and light.
best of all it's about $62 shipped
