Starter for t5 ???

Car: 1988 Gta trans am
Engine: LR4 4.8
Transmission: 98-02 t56 6 speed
Axle/Gears: Bw 9 bolt (3.70’s) pbr rotors
Starter for t5 ???
(355 tpi 2 piece rear main seal block) Ok so got a couple quick question ??? Im in the middle of swapping out my auto 700r4 to the 89 wc t5 an i got the starter off the parts car but now it doesnt want to work just clicks so i swapped the solenoids from the auto one an it still just clicked ???? But the auto starter worked perfectly fine can i reuse the auto starter with the t5 or do i have to get a t5 starter with the 153 tooth manual flywheel that is on now Or can i just use the auto starter that worked with the 168 tooth flexplate ????

There is a larger L98/auto starter in third gens that doesn't fit the T5 bellhousing.
There's a smaller one with the 305s that does fit.
