Let me just say this; If you drive on the street I do not recommend a full manual setup. It is NOT like a standard and it DOES get old real quick. BTDT. I would recommend the TransGo Reprogramming Kit. It FIXES a bunch of problems with the 700 but more along what you may want, it will allow you to hold any gear to any RPM (take that as a warning) and it will also allow you to manually downshift to any gear at any speed (again be forwarned as you CAN blow an engine or lose control of a vehicle- I don't do this unless someone actually wants this).

I agree with transfixleo fully on this one, in fact the hundred's of 700R4/2004R's that I have built over the years I have not built "one" full manual transmission. TH400 & TH350's,? Yes, I have built a lot of these, as I am sure that transfixleo has, but these transmissions were of a different breed' there were differences in relationship as to how they handled torque & horsepower (modulation). The same thing can not be said of the 700R4/2004R style type of tranmission. Do yourself a favor & stay away from the full manual style of 700R4/2004R, it could present many potential problems. "Why bother", there is nothing to be gained by doing this.

It sounds like you need a different Governor. You are shifting past the power curve of your engine. You will be amazed how much better the car feels when you shift at the right time for your engine!
