I'll try to keep it as short as possible. I put a 383 with mods behind my stock 700r4. With a 2800 stall converter. A year ago I was driving down the highway and it wouldnt shift into overdrive. I figured it was toast as it had been slipping a little bit leading up to this, but I slowed down and tried to limp it home. On the way home in 3rd gear I heard a loud pop and my engine shut off. Pulled over, turned it back on and when I shifted into gear it chirped the tires and I could only get momentum when the rpms were right at 2800 (my stall speed). I limped it the rest of the way home. It sat for the last year. I just got my shop done with a lift and pulled it in today but it was acting like nothing happened. Any ideas of what went wrong?
