Are 9 bolt gear ratios stamped on the ring gear?
Are 9 bolt gear ratios stamped on the ring gear?
Had another project going on but for whatever reason I felt compelled to pull this cover off and inspect.
I had assumed it was a 3.27. Did I get lucky? Is this a 3.70?

Hard to say. Probably not but definitely maybe. Most mfrs stamp the tooth count on them, if anything. 3.70 was 10:37. 3.27 was 11:36. Nearly all gear ratios have at least one prime number on one of the gears.

Well that’s not what I wanted to hear. I was thinking my 10 bolt had the ratio stamped on the gear but my brain may have made that up.
I guess I’ll have to go do some counting.

Hey, most of the time you're the bug, but once in awhile you get to be the windshield.

Nice score, I have a set of BW 370 gears on the shelf for a future project.
