88 gta t56 question
I put it a used 95 lt1 t56 in my gta in place of the t5
and every since I did this when I'm in gear the car vibrates pretty good when I'm accelerating hard
the tranny works fine had some input shaft play up and down 170kms or 110miles
now I got a spoon transmission crossmenber mount
and I have a 2002 aluminum rear driveshaft
that I got used 4 years ago and never vibrated
is it possible it's really to tight in the t56 housing making it vibrate
or is it ok like that .
and I just used the t56 torque arm to
stock one
do I need to get a adjusting one and set the angles
will that fix it

Re: 88 gta t56 question
^^^ This would be my best guess.
Make sure the trans mount and torque arm mount are good and tight and not needing fixing. And measure u-joint angles. Correct by adjusting the pinion angle by either shimming trans mount, or using an adjustable torque arm.

Re: 88 gta t56 question
Any clearance problems with the bigger gearbox under there? Anything in the drive line hitting the floor pan will sure make for some nasty vibration and noise with acceleration.

Re: 88 gta t56 question
balance issues with the stock style pp are fairly common with the T56.

Re: 88 gta t56 question
it was replaced 1 time before I bought it
it was so new it still had the paper sticker on the disc
I will keep that in mind
I ordered a magnetic base angle finder and I'm gonna see if it's out of whack
That's my first thing

Re: 88 gta t56 question
Ever come to a conclusion? I'm experiencing a vibration issue with my T56 swap even after getting the flywheel and clutch balanced.
