here is my question. what is the overall length of a lt1 version t56? from bellhousing to tailshaft. and also you can use your t5 driveshaft and torque arm with a lt1 t56 correct?

haha. it doesnt suck. but its not completely accurate. one thing ive read thats not right is 93 and up has a .5 6th gear? its actually 98 and up. and he says that ls1 swaps are so much harder to swap? there not its actually easier. why would you changed a push style ls1 t56 to a pull lt1 t56? its just the little tihngs really. but whatever my t56 will be in soon. and i wont have to shorten my driveshaft or torque arm.

the trans ratios are well documented and neither swap is any easier as long as you have the pieces. the problems come when you try to adapt the wrong style(ls1 or lt1) to the wrong generation engine.

1993 3.36 2.07 1.35 1.00 0.80 0.62 (std)
1993 2.97 2.07 1.43 1.00 0.80 0.62 (G92)
1994+ 2.66 1.78 1.30 1.00 0.74 0.50

sorry, was trigger happy and forgot the check the date on this before i replied. found it via search. ignore the jacka$$ hahahaa.

Brought this one back from the dead, did you? I'll add a little for clarity in future search results. >.o

'93 was the ONLY year of the F-body T56 that did not have the .5:1 6th gear ratio. Dyrt's specs are right on the money as far as that goes. And using an LS1-style trans in a car with an older ('97 or before) genI or genII SBC engine is not so easy at all. It requires an adapter plate between the engine and trans (bellhousing bolt patterns are different) as well as shortening the driveshaft. The LT1 trans is practically a bolt-in swap.

Misinformation is bad.
