gouging and nicks in 1-2 accumulator bore

Well I guess I’m not going to finish my transmission this weekend. I forgot to look at my 1-2 accumulator bore and I noticed it has pretty good gouges in it. Has anyone ever used the the Sonnax pinless kit. I used the sleeve repair kit for my 3-4 accumulator.

Re: gouging and nicks in 1-2 accumulator bore

I was wondering if using these together would cause any problems

1) standard pin style accumulator for 3-4, I did not know of the Sonnax pin-less existed, I bought the sleeve repair kit because of the scoring in the case bore.

2) I discovered the scoring in the 1-2 when I was assembling the valve body. It seems that the pin-less will work in both accumulators. The pinless kit has dual seals and I am guessing that I would still need a good non damaged accumulator housing

Re: gouging and nicks in 1-2 accumulator bore

Any kind of "dynamic" seal needs an undamaged bore to run in. So yes, the accumulator housing needs some attention.

Pin or pin-less seems to be six of one, half dozen of another. Pin-less will eliminate bore damage by removing the cause - worn pin and piston pin bores.
