700R4- Drive Gear remove/replace
Greetings,
I have a '89 Bird with a 700R4 and need to replace the Drive Gear, (Speedo not working, got a new driven gear and tested the gear and electronics by spinning the driven gear and the Speedo worked) However after I installed the Driven Gear the Speedo does not work. So my next step is to replace the Drive Gear.
Question: How hard / easy/ is it replace the Drive Gear? Is this a weekend job?
Finally, does anybody have any pic's, videos or link to pics and videos to show how to replace the Drive Gear.
Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for you help!

It's pretty eeeezy...
Support the trans, drop the crossmember, undo the 4 bolts holding the extension housing, you'll see the gear right there. Piece o cake. Shouldn't lose more than a few drops of fluid.
