Car: 1982 Chevrolet Camaro Indy Pace Car
Engine: 350
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 3.23
speedometer reads off
Hello I have an 82 Camaro Z28 it has the 140 speedometer and a 700r4 transmission i would like to know what speedometer gear set should be used to get the correct reading on the speedometer i am running the factory original gears it has the crossfire injection system

based on the following, a 2.73 car had 17t drive with 37 or 38, depending on stock tires. and a 3.08 rear car had 41 or 42. I think you might have 2.93 ( but double check) in which 39 or 40 would work. It is a very good idea to verify what gears you have in the trans, and at the differential. Also, if the odometer is tallying miles correctly bit the speedo reads off, speedo gears are not required.

17 / 44 or 15 / 39. So, see what speedo drive gear you have (third gens were 15 or 17) and match the driven.

Yup,..... 17 RED on the tail-shaft & 44 dark GREY on the sending unit for 3.23 and 700R4.
