Full Patern Reverse Manual Valve Body
Does anyone know where I can purchase a Full patern reverse manual valve body 700r4, or a place I can send mine out to get it converted, and a ball park figure on how much it would cost. Thanks

I'm not saying there isn't one made yet but to my knowledge I've never seen one for a 700R4. Supply and demand. Since there's no demand for one because the 700R4 isn't a race tranny, nobody has manufactured one. If they do, it will probably be expensive.
GM tranny manual valve bodies price wise.
Powerglide - very cheap
TH400 - a bit more expensive
TH350 - expensive
700R4 - ???
Even companies like www.turboaction.com who have made valve bodies for racers for years don't have one yet.

Thanks for the help, I was just curious to see if they made one or not for it, because id really like to have one in my car, but Id still like to be able to drive the car quite a bit on the street, and not having an overdrive will hurt especially with a 4.10 in the back
TCI make a full manual for the 700R4 not sure if it is reverse or not though. The TCI kit does not use the TV cable to control the line pressure so shifts are always hard. There is also no engine braking i.e. the car free wheels when you take your foot off of the gas.
The Trans Go kit also has a full manual option. This just removes the governor.

They're not really recommended for the street. Although you have to shift through every gear, you can also wear out parts quickly by starting off in third gear too much. The other drawback is that there's no engine braking in first or second gear. That means when you lift off the gas pedel while in first or second, the tranny will just freewheel and the engine doesn't help slow it down. You'll have to rely on the brakes more.
Drive up quickly behind someone then lift off the gas to match their speed. Engine braking slows you down when you lift. With no engine braking you'll keep rolling at that speed until road friction or stepping on the brakes slows you down.
This isn't a problem in a race car either drag or oval racing where manual valve bodies are used a lot.

I have a revearse pattern manual valve body 700r4 in my car. Actually it's now laying on my garage floor cuz it disintigrated after 5000 miles. Art Carr said it would last forever, hahahahaha. I just talked to them about my problems and they are going to try to work out some sort of solution for me, I have my fingers crossed. I'm converting to a manual valve body TH400 with a Gear Vendors overdrive.

thats really ****y that happened Im probably better off with a shift kit or what not, I just want better shifts, cause it seems like the stock 700r4 is slow between shifts
IMO, the manual setup is not good for the street. It is not like driving a standard and forget once or twice to bring it down to the right gear and Poof! There goes your tranny. For a solid, dependable tranny use the TransGo Reprogramming Kit.
