Genuine GM 700R4 Transmission Gasket & "Seal"

I am curious as to why the Genuine GM kit 8657926 has a pan gasket and seal with the filter included, what is the extra seal included for versus the AC Delco or WIX kits that have the pan gasket and filter only? Is something better than the other for my '92 Z28?

And while I'm under there I only have 112K on the odometer. The last change was at 80K with quality ATF but this time I have Amsoil ATF on standby. I think it's Dexron VI but will reconfirm that later.

Glad to see you all again. It's been awhile.

The "Seal" that is being mentioned is the Oil Filter Neck to Pump Body Seal.

Every Filter and Gasket Set that I have ever purchased for a THM700-R4, has included said Seal.

Thanks for your reply so now I'm wondering if I should perform that seal swap if I get that particular kit.
I've never done that seal before as other kits only include filter and cork gasket as far as I know. I just want to do this right one time and last. Is this a 5 min seal swap ? Need instructions or I'll skip it but it's the first time ever.

The AC Delco kits include both early/late styles of gasket. One is cork the other is rubber IIRC. Both work, most kits just choose to include one or the other.
