Moser 12 bolt axle question

I have a 12 bolt from Moser about 20 years old. I had new bearings put on the axles and I must not have noticed this years ago but one axle when I tighten the retainer bolts the axle gets harder to turn. Not impossible but noticable. The yoke turns easy.

This has the 9 inch housing ends. I cleaned up a dent inside the bore thinking that was the problem but it still gets a little tight.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a big deal?

Thanks.

Re: Moser 12 bolt axle question

Did you measure the bearing preload and the axle end play?

No, but I noticed a ring on the inner seal it wasn't seated all the way. After I pressed it in more it is better.
