My buddy has a 1984 Recaro 5.0 automatic Firebird that i’ve been helping him with and he took the car on a drive yesterday and the car just stopped shifting out of 2nd into 3rd it just overrevs now. We’re going to send it to be rebuilt but I just made this thread to see if a vacuum leak or something stupid like a sensor could cause this issue before we have the full unit serviced. Thanks guys

 

The most common problem is losing the 3-4 clutch pack in 700R4's. This is what happened here.
