T-56 to V-Gate question
T-56 to V-Gate question
Has anybody successfully done a 5th and 6th delete and ran a 4 speed Vertigate shifter on it? T-56s can be built to handle more power than the old school 4-speeds and I'm looking ahead to build a big block chevy for somewhere around 1200 horsepower boosted. I've heard that even with the occasional trip to the strip if you're smart the built T-56s can handle about that power level. The problem is, I really gots my heart set on a vertigate shifter and that's really only possible with a four speed. Well, since the four speeds can't be built to handle quite so much power (The most I've ever heard of someone running a T-10 with was 850 horse, and that trans was built to hell) I thought it would be neat to just tear the overdrives out of a T-56 and rig up the vertigate to that. Anyone have any ideas as to how feasible that is?

If you order one on Amazon Prime with free returns, you could test fit it and teach us how it works together.
