700r4 With 400 Torque?

Seen 700r4 questions on here a lot, I'm not driving a Camaro personally (Though I do love them) but I was hoping I could get some advice. I've been running a basically stock 305 and I've had a stock 700r4 with it, no problems because the 305 cant put out any real meaningful power. However, in the year that I've had the 305 it it's broken down 3 times (all due to bad care from a previous owner I promise) and this time after fully disassembling I realized this repair would cost almost if not over a grand and decided I'd bite the bullet and treat myself to a nice crate 350. Found one that caught my eye, but it says it has 345hp and 400tq. Now, Like I said I've only ran a 305 so I genuinely know nothing about power limits since I couldn't come any close to them 😅 But this leaves me with a few questions I was hoping I could get answered

Will the 700R4 (code tells me its a 1988 model used for 5.7l in C series trucks and G series vans) run fine with this?
If not, what would I need to replace to make it run fine?
And finally, would I be fine running it stock for a while before I upgrade the trans? Don't plan on testing its limits for a while so I wouldn't go over 80 (Note, car would get about .096 hp/lb with a 345hp engine because it weighs about 3600lbs)

And like I said, I genuinely have no knowledge on stuff involving max power so if theres any important stuff I'm missing please let me know!

It's not really the speed you travel, but the amount of torque you apply (and how fast you apply it) that will blow the 700R4. Technically that crate motor is rated a bit over what the 700R4 is good for, but it would likely be fine for a while if you never really laid into it and had a good aux cooler.

345hp in these cars can break transmissions, rear ends, and cause flex to the chassis if it isnt stiffened up. If you drive it like a madman... If you go easy on it you should be ok

Re: 700r4 With 400 Torque?

pull the 700 and have it built to handle the power.
a 4l60 is a 700 with newer parts.
There is a plethora of parts to make that 700 handle 800 ft pounds.
But, you got to pay to play.
