New noisy Tremec trans
After a year of fighting for parts, looking for quality mechanics in the New York area, and my fiancée joining the NAVY, it’s my time now! Problem is, my new trans makes a rattling noise, like a bolt fell out and is bouncing around, after it warms up and in 5th gear.
Also, if I stab the throttle while it’s cool, the same sound occurs but only for a split second. Anybody have any ideas? Bent input shaft? Bad bushings? Bad install?
Also, any good shops in NY that have a decent idea of third gens?
Thanks!

Have you talked to Andris Skulte? www.skulte.com . If you can make a 2-hour drive to PA, Art could take care of it. www.rearman.com . Be careful - I found so many risk businesses in NY, that I will not do business with any until referring to my research results. I have no intention of getting stiffed or selling stolen parts!!!

What clutch do you have? I have heard of the CF weights coming loose.

I have the CF 1 and it's really more of a grinding now. Could the input shaft be a little bent? There is a vibration in the stick which is noticable in third and most noticeable in fourth at about 1600 rpm. Above that, it's noticeable but not as much.
