gears and posi
i have a 89RS. i am wondering on how i would go about to change my gears. which gears do i choose. i see some for 10bolt 8.5" and 10 bolt 7 5/8. which is my car. and can i get posi while im at it. i see powertrax seems to be the cheapest. are they good.
you have 7.5 or 7 5/8 ring gear, both interchange. i tihnk SLP is the cheapest posi, make sure you know how many splines you have before you order. setting up gears requires tools most people don't have. read the drive train section of your manual for an idea of whats involved it setting it up.

I would've talked to SLP about posis for $199!!
Our gears are $179. Shopping at SLP requires "cherry picking" as many items are quite expensive. Most of their guys are competent, and Art and SLP have had a long business relationship. I know few people who use the SLP posi, and I value your opinion.

but what i was saying was SLP sells a posi for $99 while auburn is selling one for $314. are they both just as good, or is there something about the auburn that justifys the extra $215. i would rather just buy a posi for $99 and gears for $199 from SLP unless there is good reason not to.
Order from SLP before they put the price up. We know the dealers want to buy them up and resell to you at a higher profit. This is what we call a loss leader. It's the one item they have dirt cheap to lure you in, while the rest of the prices are competitive or HIGH. SLP is often expensive, but they have good products.
