Hey there crazy, quick question for ya; what is your website address? I used to have it in my favorites when you had a banner up above but have since lost it and everything I try hasn't worked(which could be due to my **** poor internet provider) Sometimes it sucks living in small-town Montana. Also, another quick question for you, I have an 85 Sport Coupe that had a non-computer controlled 350 installed a few years back, along with trans-go shift kit and the B&M TV valve thing that is supposed to allow the WOT 3-4 upshift(I guess it's more like 2/3 throttle upshift though) and when it's cold it has a bad habit of stalling when shifted into gear. The way I park I always have to shift into reverse first, and indefinetly it stalls on me. Do you have any suggestions off the top of your head? I have another tranny, out of an 88 350 IROC that I was going to rebuild for it, but doubt it'll happen. The original tranny with the shift kit doesn't shift like I want it too but I imagine that has something to do with the oil pump and servo, but I dunno. Anyways, any blatantly obvious ideas on the stall problem? Any info is much appreciated.

pro built is at www.pro-built.net or http://www.isphere.com/probuilt if that doesn't work.

if your car only stalls when you put it in gear when its cold, i'd suspect maybe you need to work on tuning the engine a little, is your car carb'd, if so does the choke/high idle work? is it running ok when it's cold (not missing/idling rough)? if it's already on the verge of dying anyways then the extra load of a tranny in gear could throw it over the edge.. otherwise the only thing i know of in a auto that could kill the motor is a messed up TCC, but then you'd be stalling everytime you come to a stop i'd think...

The motor is carbed, non-cc carb; and the cold idle works just fine. The hot idle on the other hand doesn't stay put, I pulled the screw out once and stretched the spring a bit but that didn't last long either. guess I'll have to use loctite or something to get it to stay put, but I don't drive it often so it isn't that big of a deal. Pisses me off though when that screw backs out and I let my foot of the gas to an idle of like 400, not enough vaccuum for the brakes then so I have to keep on it. I'd like to replace the heads and intake completely but have yet to figure out what all I want to do. Basically, the Q-Jet is pretty tired that's on it. But I mean it'll be idleing at like 750 cold, after letting it warm up for five minutes or so, then I shift to reverse and it dies. Not drive though when I get backed around and shift to drive.

Question..

After you let it warm up for a few minutes.....if you shifted straight to Drive, instead of reverse....would it still die?

if it runs ok in drive but not in reverse, then i have no idea what that is.

Howdy again, it's been a while since I've driven it; but the roads are fairly clear now so I'll take it for a spin tommorrow. Shouldn't be too scary...LOL
