Anyone heard of a deceleration valve?

So I'm flipping through my Haynes manual and I start looking at the page that shows all the sensors and relays and stuff. Well, for a V6 with a 5 speed it shows a Deceleration Valve near the front passenger side of the motor. The V8 picture does not list one.

Anyway, since i'm doing a T5 swap, do I need this valve? I've never heard of it before and it's never brought up in T5 swap posts....

It's part of the AIR valve assembly on the V8.

If you plan on licensing your car in CA, you will need to leave the AIR system intact. It doesn't matter whether it's in front of a stick or an auto.
