okay im hopeing to get this rear end out of a 90 rs so i could put in the slp posi unti. but ive heard to weld the axel tube for more stregth. where do i weld on them? i know how stick,mig,tig, oxyfuel even though i know i would not use that on a rear end. but where on a rear end would i weld the axel tubes. if any one has pics of a rear end out and could tell me where and if u have pics of a rear end with the tubes welded that would help. thanx

 

Looking at your mods this isn't really necessary. However, if you just want to do it then cool. Look at where the tube is pressed into the center section and there should be a gap between the tube and center section. Weld it up all the way around.

 

well the reason y im askin becuz im hope fully going to get a supercharged 355 and i dont know if my stock rear end would hold up too the power so i figured id be on the safe side and do anything i could too help it from braking and whatnot.

 

i weld the tubes to the center section of every rear end i work on. clean it up good to remove rust and dirt. i use 3/32 E7018 but GMAW or GTAW would work as well.
