I finally pulled apart my 9bolt today. removed the carrier. got the posi unit on my bench, and hopefully I'll rebuild that posi unit tomorrow. my first time rebuilding a 9bolt.

13 yo gear oil sure does stink the wife doesn't quite like it

i hear that, i just swapped out an original 2.77 9 bolt, and i dont think the fluid had ever been changed once in about 200k miles. that was some thick smelly stuff.
