Poly Mount with Solid Motor Mounts

I don't know if this qualifies as a tranny question or not, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. I'm planning on using solid mounts (Moroso) to swap in my new small block. I'll be using the Moroso Frame and Engine Mounts. Do I need to use a solid trans mount as well? What's the opinion of the trans. gurus on this issue, as several of us have questioned the stress placed on tranny case if solid mounts are used exclusively. I had been planning on using a "Poly" mount, but I want to be sure this wouldn't cause any ill effects. Thanks Guys! :hail:

i have no experience with solids, but the whole drivetrain will see a lot more stress even with just the solid engine mounts, not to mention the tranny mount. Why do you want to do this? is the car a drag car? you'll notice a very stiff ride on the street. I don't really see much advantage in the solids. what are you trying to improve?

I've gotta agree, Tom. I'm considering the solid mounts due to a problem that I'm having with the stock frame mounts and engine mounts lining up while I'm trying to drop in my new small block. My car was a 2.8 V6 car.
This problem was posted under V8 Mounts under the Engine Swap Board. If you have the time, take a look. I don't know of any other alternative at this point.

man it seems like those guys are overthinking it. can't you just go to a chevy dealer and say you want motor mounts for an 85 V8 car? how bout a discount parts store? i think the frames themselves are the same, just get new mounts.

Hope this helps
