Swapping in an aluminum driveshaft
I have a stock DS, and like lots of you, have that annoying vibration around 90 mph. I've heard that I can use an LS1 driveshaft out of an auto (i have auto)....true? Those of you that switched, did the vibration go away, car noticably faster, better gas mileage?? WAS IT WORTH IT....thanks guys.

I got mine off of a 2000 TA 6 speed and put it into my '90 RS for $160 off of ebay. It stopped vibration a little, though my flexplate is bad so I can't really judge yet. Any aluminum DS from '82-'02 should work and make for an easy swap.
You obviously won't feel a SOTP difference, or increase in gas milage. It's really up to you if you feel it be worth it, and how annoyed you are by that vibration.

Well, the problem with the stock driveshaft is that it is probably rusted to He!! and back. Mine was, and a rebalance would have been just about pointless in my case. As far as rear wheel horse power gains, their will be a small gain due to less rotating mass, which will lead to a very small milage increase. You will not see or feel a difference.
