so many problems.
my tranny is sooooo out of whack. heres whats going on
1. I put a new 9.5 inch converter in 2600 stall Lockup ACT
2. When driving it shifts normally into 2nd at 3000 and stay at 3000 and if i give it ANY more gas it'll shift again at like 3100 into 3rd and if I give it any more gas it'll shift into over drive at 3200 and drop to 1500. It's like i have 1 gear. I have adjusted the TV cable numerous times no luck whatsoever.
3. When In overdrive at like 60 and 2000 and i give it a TAD more gas it jumps out of lockup mode which the old converter never did unless you got on it. It bugs me.
4. When it gets out of lockup mode it grinds and shakes the whole car. It seems something is rubbing. I'm scared of even giving it gas. I dont know what grinds but it does anytime its in 4th and out of lockup.
5. I am so tempted to put my stock converter back in. But I hate wasting the 600 bucks.

First off, do this exactly: To adjust the TV Cable skip the book method and do this: Press the 'D' shaped lock button on the adjuster and loosen the cable setting (The black housing that the metal cable is in will move forward). Now, have someone floor the gas pedal while you check to see if the throttle plate is open all the way. Usually they are off a little and will wiggle. Do whatever you have to do to get it open solid. Now, with the pedal still floored, press the 'D' button and pull the cable casing (the black tube) back as hard as you can (putting maximum tension on the metal cable) and release the button. You now have the engine, tranny and gas pedal all in sync at WOT. Mark the cable casing so if for some reason it gets moved you can know where to put it again. The problem with the 'self adjust method' is that it bends things and puts them permanently out of whack. It is also the full TV setting, which is theoretically what the GM method does.
After that you may have found that you didn't select the correct stall for your combo, whatever it is.
