12 bolt rear

ok, so i am telling this guy at horsepower store(local shop) about how much i hate my 2.73s with open diff. he tells me he has a set of 3.73s with a posi that he is selling for $125. as far as i know, this is an awesome deal, right? also, he kept emphasizing it was ring and pinion and has a 12 bolt housing...is this going to be a problem if i buy it?

yes this is a problem or yes it is a good deal....have an 89 RS, if that makes any difference

Axle/Gears: Ford 9"/31 spline spool/4.86

12 bolt gears (8 7/8") will not fit in your 10 bolt housing. The 12 bolt housing will not fit unless you find some way to attach the torque arm or eliminate it.
